BKF Builders' Trex Deck Contest

- To enter, visit foxcarolina.com complete the registration and entry form and tell us in 75 words or less why you deserve a new deck. There is no cost to register or enter. Contest begins April 21, 2008, and ends May 22, 2008. Entries must be received by 3:59 p.m., ET on May 22, 2008. One entry per household.
- Entrants must be legal residents of counties in the WHNS viewing area in NC, SC and GA and18 years of age or older at time of entry. Employees of WHNS, Meredith Corporation, BKF Builders, Trex, Biamark Advertising, their agents, affiliates, subsidiaries and members of their immediate families or persons residing in the same household are not eligible. Winners of a prize from WHNS within the past thirty (30) days from the beginning date of this contest are not eligible.
- On or about May 26, 2008, a qualified panel of judges will judge all eligible entries based on substance of written entry (50%), creativity of written entry (30%) and reflection of theme (20%). One (1) winner will be selected. All decisions of judges, BKF Builders and WHNS regarding winner selection and this contest are final. In the event of a tie, the winning entry will be the entry among the tied entries with the higher/highest score in the criterion of reflection of theme. Winner will be notified by phone on or about May 26, 2008. WHNS is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries. WHNS is not responsible for error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone, computer, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of, or failure of WHNS to receive entry information on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or the Web site or any combination thereof. WHNS also is not responsible for any injury or damage to entrants or any other’s computer related to or resulting from entering the contest. WHNS reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel contest if it becomes technically corrupted or because of non-authorized human intervention. In the event of cancellation, the prize will be awarded from among all eligible entries received up to the date of cancellation. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an electronic entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the person whose name the corresponding e-mail account is registered to. All entries become the property of WHNS and will not be returned.
- One (1) winner will receive a Trex customized deck, approximately 16x16, and installation; retail value: $5,000. Prize must be redeemed by October 31, 2008. Any fees or costs, including building permits, utility fees, etc., associated with the decking and installation are the winner’s responsibility. Prize may not be assigned, transferred, changed or redeemed for cash, except at the discretion of WHNS. WHNS reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if prize cannot be awarded as described. WHNS disclaims all and any liability for the actual provision, quality or nature of any third-party product or service accepted by the winner. WHNS and BKF Builders will determine all elements of prizing in their sole discretion.
- Entry constitutes permission for WHNS to use winners’ name, hometown, likeness, photograph, voice and statements regarding this contest for editorial, public relations, promotional and advertising purposes on behalf of WHNS and Meredith Corporation without compensation unless prohibited by law. Winner will be required to complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release of Liability/Publicity unless prohibited by law, within ten (10) days of notification. If a selected winner cannot be contacted, fails to claim prize, fails to comply with all rules, is unable to travel on dates of prize or attend event on prize date or fails to respond to the winner notification, the selected winner is disqualified and the prize is forfeited. If forfeited, the entry with the next highest score will be the winner. Subject to all U.S. federal, NC, SC, and GA state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited. Applicable taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. Winner will be issued a 1099 tax form.
- By participating and winning a prize, winner release WHNS, Meredith Corporation, Biamark Advertising, Trex, BKF Builders, their parents, affiliates, subsidiaries and agents, and their respective officers, directors, employees and agents from any and all liability or responsibility for any claim arising in connection with participation in the contest or any prize awarded.
