Jeff Moreau

Co-Anchor Of News @ 6:30, The Ten O'Clock News

Jeff Moreau is the co-anchor of Diana Watson on FOX Carolina News at 6:30, which airs from 6:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday through Friday, and The Ten O'Clock News from 10 to 11 p.m. on Monday through Friday.

Jeff grew up in Torrance, Calif., and went to school at Arizona State University, where he graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism.

Jeff has done everything in television news. He even had to fill in for a meteorologist one morning at his last station.

Jeff's career started in sports. He thought he'd be the next Costas or work at ESPN. That lasted for 3 years.

That was when Jeff realized news was his calling - telling memorable stories, meeting people, covering breaking events, never the same day twice.

Jeff got his first gig out of college in Tri-Cities, Wash., where he was on the air five days after graduating.

Jeff's next stop was down Interstate 90 in Spokane, Wash. - KHQ-TV. During his five years there, Jeff worked his way from sports reporter to weekend news anchor and loved every minute of it.

In 2006, sticky summers and southern hospitality greeted Jeff at his next stop -- FOX Carolina.

Jeff's style is upbeat, edgy and hip. To him, it's not about reading. It's about telling viewers the real story. It's about making them care, get fired up and share a laugh. His segment, "Because You Asked," is one way to get involved. Ask him a question. He'll find you the answer.

Jeff loves politics. There's no bill too big, no politician too savvy and no issue too controversial. He will find the story, keep that politician honest and bring you the important issues of the day, fair and balanced.

On the weekends, I love to: Hanging with my girls. Taking my daughters to the park. Watching movies with my wife.

My favorite movie is: "American Beauty" (filmed at my high school).

My favorite kind of music is: Equal opportunity listener. I've got everything from Grateful Dead to Arcade Fire on my iPod. Big fan of talk radio in the car.

My favorite food is: Anything on the grill. Sunday morning pancakes.

Hidden Talents: Voice impersonations. I do a mean Ted Koppel. I've got the past 3 presidents down pat.

Hobbies: Staying active, chucking the pigskin, shooting hoops, going to the gym, photography and crossword puzzles.

Pets: I have a couple of dogs.

Children: Two wonderful girls.

Community Service: I enjoy reading to kids at area schools. Also, teaching up and coming journalism students at area colleges. It's always an honor to emcee events, especially ones benefiting charities.

Most memorable story: Anything and everything politics. Election nights. President Bush's visit to Furman. Barack Obama's win at the South Carolina Democratic Primary. Bearing witness to history from the anchor desk or live in the field - it doesn't get any better than that.
