On the weekends, I love to: watch my kids play soccer!

My favorite movie is: “Shawshank Redemption” although I really love comedies, including “My Cousin Vinny” and “Meet the Parents.”

My favorite kind of music is: any kind of rock! I am a big Bon Jovi fan. You can find plenty of older stuff like The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac on my ipod, but these days I like Nickelback and Three Doors Down too.

My favorite food is: not going to help me cut carbs! I love any kind of pasta. Italian is my absolute favorite, with Mexican food not far behind.

Hidden talents: My kids and husband tell me I’m a pretty good cook. I’m not a great baker, but I love making risotto, shrimp and grits, or pasta. I also love to run and have started a tradition with my mom to take part in the Copper River Bridge Run every year! I have to run off all that pasta!

Hobbies: Spending time with my kids, running, hiking, cooking, and reading.

Pets: We have a 10-year-old pug named Ally. She’s very sweet and spends most of her time sleeping or eating!

Children: 8-year-old twins, Lindsay and Leo. The lights of my life!

Community Service Projects: I am a board member for the Beach Ball Foundation, a group that raises money for various children’s charities in the Upstate. I also spend a lot of time in the schools. I take every opportunity to read to classes when I can. I also serve as a “Room Mom” for one of my kids at their elementary school.

Most memorable story: I have covered a number of stories over the nearly two decades I’ve worked as a reporter and anchor. Susan Smith quickly comes to mind, along with the deadly Greenville hotel fire. Those are stories that left a big impact with me. Often times, it is the more personal stories that really make me proud to be a journalist. For example, we recently had a family stranded in the Upstate after evacuating a hurricane. They didn’t have enough money to get back home. It made me proud to help them find the resources they needed to make the journey back to the Gulf Coast.
