GREENVILLE, S.C.FOX Carolina meteorologist Alexandra Wilson said damaging winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes are possible with storms that will develop Tuesday afternoon.
Wilson said high humidity and plenty of sunshine will create an unstable environment as a disturbance moves into the area from the Great Lakes region.
The mountains will see the storms first -- about 1 p.m., Wilson said. She said the Upstate's chance of storms goes up by 3 p.m.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed the western Carolinas in a slight risk area for severe weather -- the lowest level of the three-level scale.
Wilson said there is also a chance of storms in the forecast for the remainder of the week and into the weekend. She said scattered showers and storms will be possible by the afternoon each day.
