LOCKHART, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Union County deputies said the body of a woman was found in Lockhart Tuesday afternoon.   Sheriff David Taylor said 48-year-old Angela Millwood was found dead near a campsite by a river.

Deputies said the initial 911 call that came in was about a heart attack patient.  When EMS arrived, they found Millwood's body.  Officers said it appeared the body had been there for a while.

Investigators said Millwood had spent all weekend camping and fishing with her husband and another couple.  Deputies said the group told officers they could not find Millwood for some time.   Investigators said Millwood was found just before 1 p.m. Tuesday at 420 River Street.

Millwood's husband, Roger, said he was shocked to find his wife lying face down in a sand dune, the their campsite by the river.  "I seen her Orange bathing suit top.  That's when I found her and went to her, and she was dead, " said Millwood.

He said he woke up and Angie wasn't there.  Millwood said he found his wife a few feet away, and after trying to revive her, he called 911.

Millwood's friends said she had been sick for awhile.

"She was on some medication, and I don't know if maybe it was the medication or maybe a difference of the heat, maybe the sun.  It's been so hot today," said Donnie Horne.

Sheriff Taylor said investigators cannot determine a cause of death until an autopsy is complete.  Therefore, Sheriff Taylor said it is too soon to say whether Millwood was a victim of foul play or died of natural causes.
