Arrest made in Greenville stabbing

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville police said they have arrested a man in connection wit a stabbing downtown.

Police say Richard Ollie Williams, Jr. of Greer is facing attempted murder charges and possessing a weapon during a violent crime.

The stabbing happened near the corner of Coffee and North Main streets about 9:45 p.m Wednesday night.

Police said two people got into an argument. They said one of them pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the other person in the back. They also tell us the two men didn't know each other.

The area was blocked off as the forensics team searched for evidence at the scene.

Police said the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
