Passenger traffic at Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport increased for the third straight month in May, according to airport officials.
Officials said 163,000 passengers traveled through GSP in May. That number is up from 155,000 travelers in April and 140,000 travelers in March.
May's number is up more than 48 percent over last year, officials said.
Airport officials cited lower fares, more destinations and the start of summer for the increase of passenger traffic.
Southwest Airlines and Vision Airlines both started operating out of GSP in March.
