Deputies in Spartanburg are looking for whoever is responsible for two early morning attacks on I-26.
Donovan Mcswain says early Monday morning he and his wife were headed west on I-26. Mcswain says as his car approached the Morris Bridge Road overpass he saw someone get out a dark colored van and throw something down. Mcswain says the object shattered his window but says no one was injured. Mcswain says he pulled his car over at a nearby gas station on Hwy 221 where he met another man whose car was also hit.
Later on Monday morning, deputies received another call about objects being thrown from an overpass. A Tennessee man driving a tour bus told deputies two people threw objects at him as he crossed under the Old Georgia Road overpass on I-26. No one on board the bus was injured.
This is the second time in less than a month that cars have been hit from objects thrown from overpasses in Spartanburg County.
Back in June, several tractor trailers had their windshields busted by rocks thrown from an overpass on I-85. At least four truck drivers told deputies they were hit as they passed under the overpass near exit 72. No arrests have been made in that case.
Anyone with information on either of these cases can call the Spartanburg County Sheriff's office or crime stoppers at 1-(888) CRIME-SC.
