Hello, Wednesday! We're moving "over the hump" and the weekend is in sight (and boy do I need it this week)!
While the week winds down, the heat will continue to go up over the next few days. Thermometers will top out in the mid/upper 90s in the Upstate today, while the Mountains will see highs around 90°. Most areas will stay dry under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies... there's only an isolated chance of a shower or storm. The best chance will be in the NW Upstate/SW NC spots, but even there we're talking about a 20% chance.
Humidity levels will stay a bit lower than they've been, but it won't be crisp or refreshing by any means... it just isn't going to be oppressive, or help us reach heat advisory criteria (heat index values of 105° or higher for 3+ hours). The dewpoints will stay in "moderately muggy" territory through Friday, with humidity creeping back to oppressive levels by the weekend.
Tomorrow brings nearly the same forecast - mostly sunny/partly cloudy with just an isolated PM shower or storm possible. Highs will be a bit warmer, by about a degree or two. A few extra storms could fire in the Mountains late on Friday and Saturday... but Sunday will bring the best chance of rain and storms area-wide. So it won't be a wash-out at Bele Chere, but you'll need to keep an eye on the sky if you're heading to that. The heat will be the main thing to watch and be prepared for - highs will be in the low 90s in Asheville Friday and Saturday.
