GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A body found in Greenville County on Friday night is that of a woman reported missing last Monday, the Greenville County Coroner's Office said.

Deputies said 42-year-old Linda New had not been seen since Monday, when she was with her nephew. They said that when the nephew returned later Monday he had been attacked.

Investigators said the nephew provided little information on how he was attacked and had no information on New's location.

Her family said they know who killed New, although the cause of her death has not been released. Her mother, Addie New, told Fox Carolina in an exclusive interview that her daughter was a kind-hearted and upbeat person, who never deserved this.

Addie New said "I want justice for Linda Sue, and justice for me. And whoever did this, I want you to know that God Loves you, and she did not deserve this." Her family is in the process of setting up funeral arrangements. They told us, they plan on cremating New.

New's body was found about 9 p.m. Friday on Wood Street.

The cause of New's death was not immediately released.
