GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Two homicide by child abuse cases in Greenville County were turned over to the grand jury Tuesday morning.

Daron Davis went before a judge for a preliminary hearing at 9:30 a.m. on a charge of homicide by child abuse.

Davis is accused of killing his five-month-old daughter in January in Greer. Investigators said the child died from blunt force trauma to the head.

Davis was convicted of homicide by child abuse in 1995 for the death of his 11-month-old daughter. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison but only served half that time according to court records.

Georgia Sprouse had her preliminary hearing at 10:30 a.m.

Sprouse is charged with homicide by child abuse and accessory after the fact in the death of her 1-year-old daughter in May in Greer.

Investigators said the child was suffocated by James Johnson and that Sprouse didn't do anything to save her child's life. Johnson was not the child's biological father, investigators said. Johnson is also charged in connection to the little girl's death.
