GRAFTON TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) -

A Lorain County Corrections Officer's bond has been set at $5,000,000. This after he confessed to stabbing his wife to death early Thursday morning.

William Dembie, 42, has been a Lorain County Corrections Officer since 1999. He worked at the Lorain County Jail, where he has now been confined for the murder of his wife.

Dembie called Lorain County Sheriff Deputies around 1: 30 a.m. and told them he killed his wife. He said she was beheaded. When Sheriffs arrived on scene, Dembie came outside and confessed again. Deputies then placed him in custody.

Deputies tell 19 Action News that Holly Dembie, 33, was stabbed multiple times behind the Cowely Road home, but are not classifying the murder as a beheading.

Meanwhile, neighbors are stunned and frightened. "I really did not know much about her, I introduced myself when they first moved in. They kept to themselves they were quiet, and even though you didn't hear much you would always see her, she was doing yard work a lot"  says a neighbor.

Investigators continue to work the case, no word on motive at this time.

William Dembie was immediately placed on leave without pay.

Dembie made his intitial court appearance Thursday. His next court date is is set for August 18th.
