GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford stepped back into the media spotlight for a one-on-one interview on CNN on Monday night.

The Republican talked about love during his appearance on Piers Morgan's talk show.

The pair discussed Sanford's dramatic fall from grace after a scandal that involved a five-day-long disappearance and an admission of an affair with an Argentine woman. That admission was followed by a divorce from his wife of nearly 20 years, Jenny.

Sanford also talked about voting to impeach President Bill Clinton for his infidelity, while Sanford was a Congressman.

The ex-governor said he is still with his former mistress, Maria Belen Chapur, but did not reveal any other details.
