GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Interstate 85 southbound reopened on Tuesday afternoon after being briefly shutdown because of an accident.

The accident happened around 1:20 p.m. near mile marker 60 in Spartanburg County.

FOX Carolina's Cody Alcorn was in the traffic that was brought to a standstill.  He said a medical helicopter landed to transport a patient.

Traffic began moving smoothly around 2:30 p.m.

We are working to get details on the accident from the Highway Patrol. We do not yet know the extent of the injuries.
