GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) -
A small fire prompted an evacuation at the BMW plant in Spartanburg County on Tuesday afternoon.
A representative for the auto maker said the fire happened about 12:15 p.m. in the air-handling system and the smoke was blown into the body shop and a nearby office area. Workers were evacuated from both areas, the representative said.
The fire was quickly extinguished and workers were allowed back into the building a short time later, the representative said.
No one was hurt in the fire.
