ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

The three suspects connected to a Pickens County homicide and Spartanburg bank robbery appeared in court Thursday.

The suspects were arrested on fugitive warrants, according to the Asheville Police Department.

Only FOX Carolina was at the Buncombe County District Court when Kayla Williams, 20, of 113 Long Shoals Rd., Marietta, SC waived extradition. She will return to Pickens County.

Tavish Yeargin, 25, and Nyia Utsey, 18, of 100 Shemwood Lane, Greenville, SC, will fight extradition. Their next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 3.

Officials with the Buncombe County Detention Center said Yeargin and the two women reported with him, were in custody.

According to the Asheville Police Department, the US Marshal's service notified APD that they were attempting to locate the homicide and bank robbery suspect around 9:44 p.m. Wednesday.

APD said that cell phone service indicated the suspect was in the area of Interstate 26 and NC Highway 191 as well as the area of Interstate 50 and Smokey Park Highway.

The combination of the US Marshals, Greenville County Sheriff's Office and the Asheville Police Department located the suspect and two accomplices in the Sleep Inn on 1918 Old Haywood Road and took them into custody, according to the APD.

APD said they notified Pickens County Sheriff's Office and three detectives were dispatched.

APD detectives obtained a search warrant for the hotel room and 1998 Ford Mustang determined to be the suspect's vehicle. The warrant was executed together with Pickens county detectives.

Yeargin was taken directly to the Buncombe County Detention Facility and served with fugitive warrants, according to APD.

APD said Williams and Utsey were both interviewed by detectives from Pickens County related to their involvement as accomplices to murder and later charged on fugitive warrants.

Officials said that a 1-year-old child was also found in the hotel room and taken into protective custody by North Carolina DSS until relative from South Carolina can take the child into their custody.

APD said that Pickens county forensics will make arrangements to pick up the 1998 Ford Mustang because it had been reported stolen from Pickens county.

Tim Morgan with the Pickens County Sheriff's Office said that deputies had spoken with Yeargin following his arrest.

Morgan said the sheriff's office will try to extradite Yeargin as soon as possible,  but if he fights it they will have to petition the North Carolina Governor for his extradition.

The sheriff's office issued an arrest warrant for Yeargin on murder charges Thursday. The office also issued arrest warrants for Williams and Utsey on murder and grand larceny charges.
