Greenville will get new VA clinic

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, SC (AP) -

The federal government is building a new Veterans Affairs outpatient clinic in Greenville.

VA officials say the new clinic will be built near Greenville Memorial Hospital. It should be open in spring 2013 and will replace the existing clinic on Augusta Road near Interstate 85.

Officials say the new clinic should be able to take care of an additional 16,000 veterans a year. It will have state-of-the-art equipment, additional workers and additional parking.

The new clinic will cost $3.8 million. The old clinic will remain open until the new facility is opened.
