GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
As several national banks across the country announce that customers will be charged for using their debit cards, some credit unions in South Carolina are pledging to keep debit cards free for their members.
The pledge states, "I pledge to uphold the credit union philosophy of "people helping people" by continuing to offer fairly priced banking services to our members. In addition, I pledge that my credit union will abstain from charging a fee for members to use our debit cards for as long as market conditions allow us to do so."
The following credit unions in the Upstate have signed the pledge:
- Pickens Federal Credit Union
- Neighbors United Credit Union
- Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union
