SENECA, SC (FOX Carolina) -
A fatal car accident was discovered Monday morning that left a West Union teenager dead.
According to Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis, a 16-year-old girl from West Union was driving north on Davis Mill Road and crossed over Wells Highway north of Seneca, striking a guardrail around 11:45 p.m. Sunday night.
Addis said the accident was not discovered until 6:15 a.m. Monday morning by another motorist.
The victim was Kylie Evans, a student of Walhalla High School. She was believed to be driving home from visiting friends in Seneca, according to Addis.
Addis said an autopsy revealed Evans died from traumatic asphyxiation. He said the preliminary investigation indicates the manner of death was accidental.
