Salvation Army begins accepting holiday help applications

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Salvation Army of Greenville County said it will begin accepting applications for Christmas assistance on Tuesday.

The charity said the applications will be taken from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. each day until Friday at hall two of the TD Convention Center off Pleasantburg Drive.

Applicants must bring the following items to make an application:

  • Social Security cards for everyone in the household
  • Household summary print out from Department of Social Service Office (DSS)
  • Income verification within the last 30 days for all members of the household where you reside
  • Driver's license or picture ID with current address on the card
  • Proof of expenses within the last 30 days for the household where you reside
  • Birth Certificates for all children
  • Officials said all the above items must be included in order to make an application for assistance. They said no exceptions will be made.
