Fire destroys home under construction in Fountain Inn. (Nov. 1, 2011/FOX Carolina)FOUNTAIN INN, SC (FOX Carolina) -
A fire destroyed a Fountain Inn home under construction Tuesday morning.
The fire was reported at the 3100 block of Highway 418 near Scuffletown Road at 3:20 a.m.
Fountain Inn firefighters with assistance from two other departments confirmed that a home under construction was destroyed by the fire, but no one was home at the time of the fire. They are still trying to contact the owners.
The fire is out, but crews are waiting for daylight to investigate the cause of the fire.
Firefighters said the fire was about 0.25 mile back in the woods. It destroyed the approximately 2,000-square-foot home, which was about half completed.
Crews said it is unclear if the brush fire spread to the house or vice versa. They said there were no injuries.
