BLACKSBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Cherokee County will receive several new jobs in the next four years after an energy company announced plans to establish a new facility in Blacksburg.

Global Energy Francise said they planned to establish the manufacturing facility that is expected to generate more than 200 new jobs in five years. They will move into the former TNS Mills Textile Facility at 210 Henson Road.

The company said they expect to start manufacturing by the second quarter of 2012, once they have added new equipment.

"We are pleased to move forward with our plans to establish a new manufacturing facility here. Cherokee County offered us an excellent business environment, a skilled workforce and a building that fit our needs," said Desimber Rose, president of Global Energy Franchise.

The company will provide solar system solutions to South Carolina residents and businesses, planning to manufacture and assemble photovoltaic panels for other companies as well.

There will be 81 jobs initially with the plan to expand to more than 200 jobs.

A job fair will be held Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Blacksburg Town Hall. Hiring will begin immediately.
