Police: Clemson and Central power is back on

CLEMSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

11:36 p.m. Clemson Police Chief Jimmy Dixon said power was restored to the Clemson and Central areas around 11 p.m. Saturday.


Clemson City Police tell Fox Carolina that Clemson and Central cities are experiencing power outages. Clemson University Police said the campus does have power.

Police said a substation went down, and it will be six to eight hours until it returns. Police encourage everyone to stay off the streets if they can, and to treat traffic lights like four-way stops.

Duke Energy's web site reports 10,024 homes in Pickens County have no power.
