SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Several cars of a train that was hauling coal derailed in Spartanburg on Sunday morning.

CSX Transportation spokeswoman Carla Groleau said the train was heading from Kentucky to Georgia when six cars went off the tracks at around 9 a.m. Sunday. Four of the cars overturned, spilling coal onto the tracks and into the parking lot of the Spartanburg Solid Waste Transfer Station.

No one was injured in the derailment.

Groleau said it could take weeks for investigators to determine what caused the train cars to go off the track.
