GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The suspect in a fatal stabbing at a Walmart in Berea nearly two weeks ago appeared in a Greenville County courtroom Wednesday afternoon.

Avery Blandin, 47, has been accused of killing his wife, 38-year-old Lilia Blandin, who worked at the Woodforest Bank branch inside the Walmart at 6134 White Horse Road, on Dec. 10.

Deputies said they were called to the store where they found Lilia Blandin suffering from stab wounds. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died.

Investigators said witnesses reported hearing an argument between Lilia Blandin and a man, which escalated to a fight.

Avery Blandin was arrested after being involved in a crash a short time later, deputies said. He has been hospitalized since then.

Blandin, who has been charged with murder, was denied bond during Wednesday's hearing.
