CONWAY, SC (AP) -

Authorities said a 17-year-old baby sitter has been arrested after slipping an anti-anxiety drug into the lunch of a 4-year-old girl she was watching to calm the child down and get her to take a nap.

Investigators said the teen was watching the child New Year's Eve in Little River, and called the girl's mother after she started to fall several times and complained of being dizzy.

Authorities said the woman took the girl to the doctor, and a blood test found the anti-anxiety medicine in her system. She has since recovered.

The teen was charged Thursday with unlawful neglect of a child and is awaiting a bond hearing at the Horry County jail.
