BLACKSBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Interstate 85 northbound was closed at mile marker 99 in Cherokee County Tuesday morning.

As of 8:30 a.m., the left lane had reopened. Troopers said they were rerouting traffic at exit 98 onto Frontage Road and back onto northbound I-85 at exit 100.

Billy Elder with the Highway Patrol said there were three tractor trailers and four other vehicles involved in the accidents.

The first tractor trailer was disabled off on the side of the roadway when the second tractor trailer hit it from behind, according Elder.

Elder said that truck was carrying liquid soap, which required Haz-Mat and Emergency Services to clean up the road. A small amount of fuel from one of the trucks also leaked.

Troopers said that no one was transported to the hospital.

They do not know how long the cleanup will take and when all lanes will be opened.
