GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Deputies said they arrested a man that failed to obey a traffic stop, crashed his car and held a dad and his child against their will in his vehicle.
Greenville County deputies charged Brian Garrett, 29, of Travelers Rest, with child endangerment, two counts of kidnapping, hit and run, reckless driving, failure to stop for a blue light and operating a vehicle in violation of window tinting.
According to the arrest warrants, Garrett failed to stop for deputies and was involved in an accident at White Horse and Farrs Bridge roads, where he fled on foot on Friday.
Deputies said they pulled Garrett over for a routine traffic stop, but he drove off before crashing and fleeing on foot.
The warrants said inside Garrett's vehicle were a father and the man's minor-aged child, who had asked Garrett to let them go.
Deputies did not arrest Garrett until they received a tip that he was at 633 White Horse Road Ext., where he was taken into custody without incident on Sunday.
While serving Garrett's warrants, deputies said Jayme Lindsey, 26, of Easley, interfered with law enforcement and was in possession of a stolen vehicle at the White Horse Road home. She was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.
They were both being held at the Greenville County Detention Center.
