
Greenville Police said drivers faced backups Wednesday morning following a serious accident at the Interstate 85 and 385 interchange.
Police said they were investigating and reconstructing the crash after the driver died after suffering life-threatening injuries.
The accident happened on I-385 southbound near I-85 before 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, according to police. The vehicle had been removed and the scene cleared by 1:30 p.m., according to officers.
Drivers were asked to reduce their speed in the area and beware of standing water on the roadways due to heavy rain.
The cause the crash and identity of the driver have not yet been released.
