GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
A man was sentenced to 40 years in prison Friday for robbing a Berea bank and shooting a witness three years ago.
Prosecutors said David Boyd II was found guilty of assault and battery with intent to kill, theft, a weapons charge and four counts of armed robbery in connection with the crime.
Investigators said that on Dec. 10, 2008, Boyd stole $19,000 from the Bank or Travelers Rest on White Horse Road and then shot a witness to the crime.
The judge ordered Boyd to serve at least 85 percent of his two consecutive twenty-year sentences.
