SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Troopers said they need help finding the car and driver that hit a pedestrian Saturday morning, who later died.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the accident happened about 12:20 a.m. in front of Fairforest Middle School on North Blackstock Road in Spartanburg County.

Troopers said a small to medium size vehicle believed to be green or blue struck the victim then left the scene.

Spartanburg County Coroner Dwayne Corn identified the victim as 26-year-old Stanley Antonio Perdoma, who died at the scene.

Corn said he Perdoma was less than a mile from his home when he was hit by the car.

The vehicle should have damage to the front headlight area, with possible damage down the driver's side, hood and windshield, and it should be missing the left front headlight assembly, according to troopers.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Highway Patrol at 864-241-1000 or Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME-SC.
