Police say officer shot himself at training facility

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville police said an officer accidentally shot himself in the hand Tuesday.

Alia Urps, of the Greenville Police Department, said the officer shot himself while at the Police Department Pistol Club and Range on Mauldin Road.

Urps said there is no information on his condition yet, but he was taken to the hospital. She said the shooting was purely an accident, but it will be investigated internally.
