SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said two women shopping at a Spartanburg Target tried to shoplift, hiding the items in a baby bag.

According to a Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office report, the loss prevention officer at the Warren H. Abernathy Highway Target saw two women place a baby into the buggy and walk around the store, putting items in the cart and inside the diaper bag.

The report said one woman folded baby clothes and put them in the bag, along with several other items, then walked through the checkout lane without paying for them.

The officer tried to stop the women, when one of the women picked up the baby carrier and they ran out the door, leaving behind the diaper bag and a purse, according to deputies.

The report said a gray Chrysler tried to pick the women up, and they were last seen running down Hadden Heights.
