Cowpens woman dies after 2-car crash

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Cowpens woman died after being injured in a two-car crash Friday morning, according to Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger.

The crash happened at 9:02 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 29 and Cherry Hill Road.

Clevenger said 79-year-old Mona Evans was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after the crash and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
