It was an absolutely fantastic early afternoon on Sunday - highs hit the low 70s in the Upstate and the low 60s in WNC under mostly sunny skies. By later in the afternoon, the NE wind set up, bringing increased cloud cover.
This NE wind will keep us cloudy and cool during the day today. Highs will be much closer to normal (in the Upstate we'll actually be slightly below-normal) - we'll only rise into the low 50s in both locations. The mostly cloudy sky cover will stick with us throughout most of the day. While rain chances are low, we may see a few spotty showers during the morning or afternoon hours. However, any rain we see will be very light and widely scattered - so no soaking rains are headed our way.
Clouds will begin to clear later this evening - with continued clearing overnight. Tomorrow will be a brighter and drier day... and highs will work back to the mild levels we've seen over the past several days. Tuesday highs will hit the low 60s in the Upstate and the upper 50s in WNC.
The rest of the week will stay on the quiet side. We really don't have much "action" at all coming in the 7-day forecast... with the exception of a few snow showers on the higher elevations of WNC near the TN borer both Wednesday and Saturday. Even in these areas, we won't get much wintry weather. Highs will stay near or above-normal through the week, before they cool off into the upcoming weekend.
Have a great Monday... and congrats to all the Giants fans out there!
