GAFFNEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Investigators in Cherokee County are hoping flyers will help solve cases that have remained unsolved for years.
On Feb. 6, 2002, Rev. Perry Posey was found dead inside his car at the old Lindley's store along South Green River Road in Gaffney.
On Monday, Cherokee County deputies were at the scene of Posey's death, passing out flyers in an effort to generate tips.
"I'm hoping somebody has a heart and understands how we feel," said Chery Posey-Dukes, Perry Posey's daughter. "Ten years with no closure."
Cherokee County Sheriff Steve Mueller said Posey's death is just one of 10 cold cases his department is trying to solve.
"Not only this cold case, but every cold case, there is somebody that knows something," Mueller said. "We are urging folks to come forward and think about those families who have been suffering over these years."
Mueller said he wants the people who committed these killings to know they will not get away with the crime.
