GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Greenville man was sentenced to 45 years in prison after he was convicted of attempted murder and armed robbery on Wednesday.

Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor Walt Wilkins said evidence at the trial showed that on Dec. 14, 2010, Lynn Hunt stabbed and robbed 60-year-old Juanita Banks near the tent in which she was living.

Wilkins said Hunt stabbed Banks in the back before taking her purse, which contained $400. He said Banks then walked to a nearby drug store where she asked a trooper for help.

Hunt was sentenced to 30 years in prison for the attempted murder charge and 15 years in prison for the armed robbery charge. He must serve 85 percent of the sentence before being eligible for parole.

Banks has since recovered for her injuries, Wilkins said.
