SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
A Spartanburg woman arrested in connection with a crash that killed a Wellford woman last month was denied bond during a hearing Thursday.
Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger said 67-year-old Shirley Sayre was pronounced dead at the scene after a three-vehicle crash in the Drayton community near Isom Street and Drayton Avenue on Jan. 30.
South Carolina troopers said two cars were headed westbound when they collided into each other. They said one of the cars crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and was hit by a third car.
Wednesday, troopers said they arrested 21-year-old Christina Hudson in connection with the crash.
Hudson was charged with driving under the influence resulting in death, driving under suspension, having an open container, not wearing a seat belt and two counts of driving under the influence resulting in great bodily injury.
On Thursday, troopers told a judge presiding over Hudson's bond hearing that they found two bottles of vodka in her car at the scene of the crash. Prosecutors said the same type of vodka bottles found in Hudson's car are seen in several pictures on her Facebook page.
"She is a danger to the community and it is clear from her actions and her Facebook page," said Seventh Circuit Solicitor Barry Barnette.
The attorney for Sayre's husband, who survived the crash, told the judge that Hudson was traveling at more than 70 mph in the 35-mph zone. He called Hudson's Facebook page abhorrent.
Hudson's family told FOX Carolina that the pictures on her Facebook page have nothing to do with the crash, and that she is a good girl. They said Hudson's friend was the one driving her car at the time of the crash.
