A day in the life of a Fountain Inn firefighter

FOUNTAIN INN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

We are pretty sure none of our viewers believe for a second that being a firefighter is an easy job, but The Morning News team found out just how difficult it is on Thursday morning with the crew in Fountain Inn.

For four hours, Chief Dale Watson and his awesome crew at their station one put reporter Joe Gagnon through the absolute grind, from climbing a forty-foot ladder to spraying the big water hose, he learned just how hard it is.

To start the morning, Joe was loaded up with all of the gear Fountain Inn's finest have to wear while carrying a 185-pound mannequin.

Then it was time to climb sky high on the back of a ladder truck; Joe scaled to the top of the 40-foot vehicle and back down. Did we mention he is terrified of heights?

Finally, it was on to the massive fire hose; Joe did not fly away fortunately, but he sure did get all wet!
