Snapshots of the Storm on Futurecast

Posted: Updated:

I'll just make this short and sweet.  Kendra will have more of a write-up later on this afternoon/early evening.

I've spotted a couple of things after looking everything over thoroughly today:

(1) Due to the strengthening storm slowing down it's progress, I think we may actually have a good amount of sunshine for half of the day tomorrow with some nice, mild temperatures prior to the storm moving into our area.

(2) Kendra, Alex and I have talked about a dry slot moving into our area sometime Sunday morning as we'll be stuck between the snow sector north and west of here and the rainiest portion of the storm to the east and southeast of us.  Still, we'll get a good amount of rain, just probably not over 2".  Also, it still looks as if Western NC is in for a couple to possibly as high as 4" of accumulating snow on Sunday.  However, the newest 12z Euro's extreme cold solution is probably not accurate... so expecting more than 2-3" for the entire Mountain chain isn't the proper way to approach this forecast.
