SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
A blind Florida man doesn't let his disability keep him from enjoying a sport he loves - bowling.
Henry Svetina has been legally blind since an accident involving sulfuric acid more than 20 years ago. He said he can't see anything more than a few feet away from him.
"I used to be able to, say, like when I looked down the lane, I'd be able to see like the cloud and stuff, but I can't see that (any) more," Svetina said.
Svetina said he uses his disadvantage in an effort to inspire others to overcome adversity.
He said he has bowled two perfect games in his life, and he averages about 190 points per game.
Svetina was in Spartanburg on Friday night to bowl in a pro-am ahead of the Professional Bowlers Association South Regional Tournament.
He bowled three games at Paradise Lanes on East Blackstock Road, scoring 185 points in the first game, 206 points in the second game and 171 points in the third.
