Tonight we'll have generally clear skies and chilly temps in the 20s and 30s area-wide. We could have some patchy fog, but nothing like what we saw on Monday AM. The other hazard could be some slick areas near the TN border, where the snow and ice melted and could potentially refreeze. But, there wasn't a whole lot of snow, so I don't expect widespread problems.
Tuesday we'll welcome the first of 2 cold fronts. The first one will bring little excitement, just some clouds and perhaps an isolated shower for the mountains. Wednesday will be breezy and mild as we'll be in-between storm systems, then Thursday will be unseasonably warm with highs near 70 in the Upstate as the second, more powerful cold front approaches. Rain and isolated t-storms will develop ahead of the front, so our best chance for getting some rain will be late Thursday into early Friday. I don't see a big severe weather threat, but it will be warm enough to support some thunder and gusty winds Thursday night. Friday we'll have some leftover showers and breezy conditions with mild highs in the 60s, but the colder air will settle in Friday night. Lows will drop back into the 20s and 30s, and highs will only reach the 40s and 50s by Saturday.
This has been a tough couple of days for me... My husbands grandfather passed away on Sunday then today a close family friend died of a fast growing cancer. I'll be heading to Alabama tomorrow to be with my husband and his family, and will return to work on Thursday. As many of you have probably noticed, this stuff seems to happen all at once :( Thanks to Andy Wood for manning the storm center while I'm away!
