GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
People from across the Upstate stopped by a Greenville BI-LO Thursday to give back to the Salvation Army.
FOX Carolina and BI-LO Charities wanted to help the Salvation Army food bank because it is running out of food for Upstate families in need.
SLIDESHOW: People donate canned goods for the Salvation Army
Members of the FOX Carolina news team and officials with BI-LO and the Salvation Army were at the Super BI-LO store on Verdae Boulevard in Greenville with a goal of filling an 18-wheeler with canned goods.
The drive lasted until noon and people donated at least 2,500 pounds of food, which will feed 250 families. Several generous people also donated checks to the Salvation Army.
