SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An Inman teenager was sentenced to 40 years in prison Monday after he admitted to fatally shooting one person and injuring a second during a robbery last year.

Seventh Circuit Solicitor Barry Barnette said 19-year-old Fred Pearson pleaded guilty to attempted murder and four counts of armed robbery.

Investigators said 41-year-old Ronnie Metcalf was shot to death during an altercation with three men in the driveway of his Old Furnace Road home. They said a witness was shot in the leg during the same incident.

Pearson must serve his entire sentence before being eligible for parole.

Charges are still pending against three other men arrested in connection with the robbery.
