GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

White Horse Road reopened Saturday night after a crash killed an Upstate motorcyclist.

The Greenville County Coroner's Office said the driver died after a van hit the motorcycle.

Witnesses said the driver was thrown from the motorcycle just before it erupted in flames.

The crash happened at White Horse Road and Gordon Street Extension in Greenville just after 7 p.m. Saturday.

The coroner said 28-year-old John Massey died at the scene after being flown from his bike. Investigators said the driver and passenger in the van were also taken to the hospital.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol was investigating the crash.
