BELTON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Anderson County dispatchers said an accident involving a school bus sent two people to the hospital Monday morning.

Dispatchers said the accident happened at the intersection of Amity and Belhaven roads in Belton and two people were taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Troopers said the crash happened about 7 a.m. when the school bus stopped to pick up children and a pickup truck rear-ended the bus.

The Highway Patrol ticketed the driver of the truck with defective brakes. Troopers said both the driver of the bus and the truck were wearing their seatbelts and were not injured.

Anderson School District Two officials said 23 students were on board the bus at the time of the crash and none were injured.

They said two students were sent to AnMed Health's emergency room as a precaution and were released to their parents before returning to school.
