DUNCAN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An Upstate fast food restaurant's parking lot turned into a campground this week.

One hundred people slept in tents from Wednesday morning to Thursday morning at Chick-fil-A's Duncan location to win free food for a year.

It was to celebrate the restaurant's grand opening in Duncan.

Charity Reed, of Anderson, was one of those people who spent the night sleeping in tents.

"It is absolutely worth it, especially since we have 52 coupons, so we can eat Chick-fil-A once a week," said Reed.

People from Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia and the Upstate came out for the opening.

The new store will employ about 75 people, and 30 Chick-fil-A officials came out for the grand opening. The officials were there to help with the party and celebrate with the most loyal people willing to camp out for food.
