ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

A Swannanoa man was named as a suspect in four bank robberies in the Asheville area that started two months ago.

Investigators said that the first holdup happened on Feb. 9 at the Wells Fargo branch at 900 Smokey Park Hwy. They said a white man held up the bank using a gun.

The second robbery happened on Feb. 24 at the RBC Centura branch at 1007 Smokey Park Hwy. in Buncombe County. They said that a white man used a gun to hold up that bank, as well.

Officials said that after the second robbery, investigators from both the Asheville Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office began working together to solve the crimes.

On March 30, both the First Citizens Bank at 1375 Patton Ave. and the First Bank at 6 Dogwood Rd. were robbed, investigators said.

Officials said that on April 4, investigators searched a home at 146 Central Ave. and found evidence that indicated the same person was responsible for all of the robberies. They said that person was identified as 60-year-old Clyde Nixon, of Swannanoa.

Investigators said Casondra Snodgrass was arrested after she was caught driving a car that was used during the robberies. They said she was being held in Cleveland County on charges unrelated to the holdups.

Anyone with information on Nixon's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 828-255-5050. They said Nixon should be considered armed and dangerous.
