Perfect is a tough word to use, but when we're talking mostly sunny skies, low humidity and highs in the 70s... I think that comes close to perfection! We'll get that Saturday, then just a bit warmer on Sunday. Friday will still be unseasonably cool, but winds should be light and sunshine will make it feel great during the afternoon.
So, tonight you'll want to protect your plants one more time! Coldest spots in the Upstate will be in southern and eastern sections, while the mountains will get widespread near-freezing temps.
Nationally, we are watching a storm system that will be bringing severe weather to the northern plains, then ultimately Oklahoma and Texas. There's a moderate risk out for DAY 3, which is a pretty good indication that we could be looking at a severe weather outbreak on Saturday in Texas and Oklahoma. That same system will reach us by Tuesday evening, but the severe weather threat will be much lower for us. The strong upper level dynamics will shift north as the cold front and trough move eastward, and this should keep us out of a severe weather outbreak situation. I do think we could have a few strong storms by late Tuesday into Wednesday though. We'll be monitoring the storm closely through the weekend!
