Elderly woman killed in Laurens Co. fire

LAURENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An elderly woman was killed in a fire at a Laurens County home Friday morning.

The fire happened at a home on Neely Ferry Road in the Hickory Tavern community.

The Laurens County Coroner's Office identified the woman as Eda Phillips.

Investigators said Phillips's body was found in a back bedroom. Her cause of death was not immediately released.
